Caught My Eye Week of 1/4/10

Added some new books to my TBR list:

#1:

Remarkable Creatures by Tracy Chevalier

I’ve been seeing buzz about this book all over the place, including BookPage and A Girl Walks into a Bookstore.  Looks to be about Victorian-women fossil hunters.  Of all things.

I never read The Girl with a Pearl Earring, but maybe if I like this one I’ll go pick it up too.

#2

The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E. Lockhart has been on the bottom of my TBR list for sometime, and I was about to remove it until I was re-inspired by a review over at Trish’s Reading Nook.  Looks to be the story of the transformation of a teen girl and a humorous secret society.  And it is getting some rave reviews.

#3

Handle with Care by Jodi Picoult was recently read by my good buddy Michelle, and while she was disappointed in the ending, a story about a osteogenesis imperfecta is interesting enough to try despite a poor ending.

I’ve got The Girl with the Pearl Earring, you may borrow it. And let me tell you how excited I was to be able to tell you about a book you hadn’t read yet. It doesn’t happen often!
